What does the Green Cord mean on Army Class A's?

Question: What does the olive drab / green cord mean on U.S. army class A's. It is worn over the right shoulder, and has a metal brass tip. (I think).

Answer: The French Fortiege, it's actually green with red braided through it. It's awarded to a unit for action during WW2 usually for there action to save and take back France. My husband's unit wears one he's 82nd AB Div and his unit has awards for action in normandy, and itlay.
