what do you think to this pony?

Question: http://www.sledmerehorses.co.uk/firefly.asp I have posted similar questions about the same type of thing but it is a new pony I am looking for a 14-14.3h 1st pony . I am 13 and have been riding school ponies my whole life do you think we would go together well - i would obviously try before i buy your opinion would be appreciated

Answer: As a riding instructor i feel that this pony would not be suitable for you. these are my reasons why; 1) for your 1st pony you are better of having a pony that is snaffled mouthed which this pony is not. she is in a kimblewick which is a bit i dont like but that is my personal opion. This shows the pony needs a stronger bit to help with the braking of her. 2) she is wearing a martingale which there is nothing against but this shows that she has a tendonace to raise her head beyond the point of control. 3) it says on the ad not a novice ride. now even tho you have been riding for yrs at a riding school, you are best of getting a novice pony. this is because riding ponies tend to be push push ponies and getting a type of pony ur not use to may knock your confidence or ruin the pony. this sort of pony maybe better as a 2nd or 3rd pony. 4) the price. for a 1st pony at your age you do not wanna spend too much as you will soon unfortantly out grow her. Always try before buying and take someone experienced with you. also please be careful of dealers as they are of catches with them. make the most of your 1st pony as you will never forget them and they will teach you so much
